Made in the USA Automotive Tools
The automotive tools made in the USA are out there but it’s getting tougher to count on that “Made in the USA” stamp when purchasing new tools. Many are made in both the United States and foreign countries so you do have to double-check labels, descriptions, or packaging when you shop.
American Made Automotive Tools

CHANNELLOCK pliers and other select CHANNELLOCK brand tools are made in the USA.

- HMC Industries: Made in the USA lift tables, industrial MRO equipment, fuel transfer equipment, oil transfer equipment, fuel caddy equipment, wheel chocks, creeper seats, scissor lifts, work benches, tool boxes, and more.
Klein Tools makes American made tools for professionals. Notable for automotive repair and mechanics are pliers, cutters, wrenches, tool kits, and tool organizers.
The vast majority of the products we sell are made in the USA. The exact percentage changes frequently as we insource some products to our USA plants and add new products to our lineup. Klein has introduced many new US-manufactured products in recent years (hole-making, screwdrivers, fish tapes, utility wrenches, buckets, bags, etc.). We have invested in four new US manufacturing facilities in the past decade, and have invested heavily in new equipment and tooling in our plants to expand our capacity and quality.

- Kwik-Lift: For nearly 20 years, the Kwik-Lift has been the best low-rise home garage lift on the market. Designed to be safe, secure, and easy to use, the Kwik-Lift is made in the USA from solid steel.
- Mac Tools: Mac Tools hardline tools are manufactured in Proto Dallas. The primary distribution center for Mac Tools is in Hilliard, Ohio, USA. Mac Tools can be purchased through independent franchises.
- Matco Tools: I had to go to the garage forums for this one. It seems many new Matco tool purchases are made in China and Taiwan. According to the mechanics and automotive hobbyists in the forums, Matco hand tools sockets, wrenches, ratchets, etc. are made in the USA. You’ll want to take care to check labels and product descriptions.
- ProMAXX Tools: American made in Pittsburgh, PA, exhaust manifold repair tools, diesel engine tooling, fuel injector puller, wheel bearing pullers, premium drill bits, and automotive combo tool kits.
