Made in the USA Bakeware
Baking is one of my things. My grandma and my mother passed down the tradition of making Polish pierogi at Christmastime, lots of Christmas cookies, and decorated birthday cakes for family and friends. I started with run-of-the-mill stand mixers but after I managed to break a couple of them in my 20s, my grandma bought me a KitchenAid mixer. Since then I’ve acquired a lot of bakeware made in the USA.
I use American-made bakeware to continue all of those traditions and bake many other homemade goods from homemade bread to cinnamon rolls and everything in between. I have 6 cookie sheets, a muffin pan, 3 cupcake pans, 2 brownie pans, and half a dozen cake pans from various American manufacturers. I also own multiple pieces of vintage Pyrex and have an endless cupboard of Anchor Hocking glass bakeware. I like to set it out on the table or counter in a Libbey glass cake plate and cloche. Pyrex is well known for made in the USA glass bakeware with products that include baking dishes in a wide range of shapes and sizes, mixing bowls, food storage containers, and many other glass kitchenware products. However, during the Covid pandemic, people were finding that the measuring cups they ordered came from China and the FTC stepped in. Let us know in the comments if you come across any non-USA-made Pyrex products. We’ll have to watch and see if Pyrex continues in that direction beyond the popular measuring cups.
